The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
There was a brief inner struggle as I held the book. I don't like reading. The narrators' voice on audio cds are usually very dynamic. The audio files fits on my phone or mp3 player.. on and on. But this time the story was so good I couldn't wait. I had stumbled on the first (The Alchemyst) while browsing the YA section. So, if you're reading this post, chances are you've got lots of time on your hands. And if that's the case check it out at your local library. The reviews are generally good and Wikipedia will tell you a bit more. The story goes, everyone who wields magic have their own special aura, and each person's aura smells like something. The alchemyst smelled like mint. The twins smell like orange and vanilla. One of the villain smell like rotten egg. So on. It's a very effective way to label who's who. Imagining a character in terms of smell is a lot easier for me.
I got to thinking what would be my smell aura. My wife would say "feet". Coffee aura would be nice I think. What about you?

It's been a while, Blog
I open the door to Blog's place. Door opens with a loud squeak. Blog runs out from the kitchen.
Blog: What the.. It's been what, almost five months? What do you want?
Me: Aw, don't be like that. I've been over at Facebook's place. They've got games!
B: Games? GAMES!?
Me: ...and trivia..
B: Take a look around, remember the post you used to write? They were personal and thoughtful. None of that three word jabs you throw up over there.
Me: ...they also have baby pictures
B: Hello?~ *blog points at the pictures over the fireplace*
Me: ..and my friends' and family's pictures
B: ...Really?
Me: Yeah.
*Blog unties her apron and sits down, folding and wringing the life out of the apron*
B: So why did you come back? Did you forget your vinyl records? I've thrown those out.
Me: facebook is needy. And she's always got ads about people supposedly searching for me. It's simple here. I write, and that's it.
B: Ok grandpa, but you know I can do more than that right?
Me: I know, I know.
B: Is that it? You're here because you don't like ads?
Me: Well, and I like the stuff your dad google is working on, with the up and coming Chrome OS and hopefully Chrome for macs soon. I also like...
*Blog turns and head for the gun rack*
*Joe runs and stumbles, falls through the screen door. Sees Blog loading shells into a shotgun. Joe runs for the cornfield*
Me: I'll be back soon!!
*Blog fires off a shot into the sky*
